YUKON ELEMENTARY ACADEMIC ALLIANCE (YEAA)
At Yukon Elementary School, we're very fortunate to have an active non-profit corporation to help fund programs for our school to further enhance the educational opportunities of our students.  YEAA is composed of parents, school administration, and PTA representatives. www.YEAA4Yukon.org

YEAA meetings will be held on the third Thursday of every month at 7pm in the Teacher's Lounge at Yukon Elementary.  Everyone is invited to attend and participate.

YEARBOOK SALES
For only $20, your student can own a full color, soft cover yearbook.  Special Sale Price Orders must be turned in by February 24, 2012.  If you order the yearbook after this date, the price will be $25.  Make checks payable to Yukon Elementary.  Please write student's name and room number on the check.

We need people to take pictures of events, classrooms, adventures in art, field trips, book clubs, Kindergarten events, 5th Grade events, and all the wonderful events and activities that happen at Yukon.  Please get the pictures to us via email or cd (leave in the office).  If you put your child's name and room number on the cd, it will be returned to you.  Feel free to contact Norma Iverson or Tania Clutter at clutter4@gmail.com.

CROSSING GUARDS
Torrance Police Department provides crossing guards to assist in the safe crossing of elementary school students.  Crossing guards are posted at various locations throughout the city in proximity to the elementary schools.

Please be reminded that the crossing guards are responsible for crossing elementary school aged children and are not permitted to watch unattended children who arrive early or are picked up late.  Children congregating at the crossing guards' posts could cause distractions that interfere with the guards' ability to safely perform their duties.

By following the above, we can work together to provide a safe environment for students walking to and from school.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding crossing guards, please call Education Officer Lisa Gonzales at (310) 618-5563.

CAFETERIA NEWS
If you have set up an account on www.myschoolbucks.com, you can check the status of your child's account or add money to your child's account from home.  Any money remaining on your child's account at the end of the school year will be available for your child to use next year, even if they are attending another school in the TUSD next year.
